New Approach for Sarcoma Treatment: Seeing and Destroying Every Cancer Cell
Sarcomas often return after surgery because surgeons can't see where tumor ends and healthy tissue begins. Our Helmholtz-funded project combines an optical tracer visible through infrared imaging with targeted alpha radiation therapy to achieve complete tumor removal even at the single-cell level.
The clinical goal: Fewer recurrences, shorter treatments, and better outcomes for patients otherwise facing years of harsh but ineffective therapy.
